GARDEN BOXES

My oldest daughter and her family built a new home 'back on the mountain' as we say here. She is a gardener, both decorative and vegetables. She asked for outdoor planters, made from food safe material. I used rough cut hemlock for the weather resistance and reasonable cost of materials.

The initial project was for five planters, 30 inches high, four feet by eight feet, with open bottoms. the plan is to fill the base with trees cut on site during construction.

I designed these to have slots in the frame 4x4s to slot in 1x6 boards which could be replaceable over the years of use. this worked out well.

We will be adding five more of these before the fall to be used next growing season.

This dropdown details the projects from the workshop that don't need a paddle to operate.
