ABOUT US
History
I'm a semi-retired father and grandfather in my 70's. I worked in tech for fifty years. Industry paid the bills, but my heart was in wood working. Over the years I've improved my basement shop and honed my skills. I retired full time work soon after a heart attack in 2014. I now concentrate on wellness and work a couple part time jobs that allow me to give back to society, And it helps keep wood in the shop.
Farback Carpentry Shop
My shop is a boat building, furniture making, anything the kids ask me to make shop. I have a background in drafting software that allows me to design and document these builds.
Myself and my two design associates / shop cats, Beau and Bindi, spend many happy hours in the shop.
Kayaks and Canoes
I've been building boats for over fifteen years. As of 2025, I've built plywood and wood strip kayaks, skin on frame kayaks, and one wood strip canoe. the current project in early 2026 is a second wood strip canoe. All these builds are detailed in pages on this site.
